Welcome to Ord-X, a non-custodial platform that allows users to mint art inscriptions from a curated list of artists using their Ordinals-compatible Bitcoin wallets. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.
Who We Are (Nature of Platform)
Ord-X.com is a U.S.-based service operated by Adapt & Innovate LLC. We provide a platform that facilitates the minting of digital art inscriptions on the Bitcoin blockchain using the Ordinals protocol. We are fully non-custodial, meaning we do not hold, control, or manage your Bitcoin wallet, private keys, or inscribed assets at any time. You are solely responsible for the security and management of your wallet and assets.
User Profiles
You may optionally create a public profile linked to your Bitcoin wallet address. This feature is opt-in and not required to use our platform. A public profile allows you to display information such as a username, avatar, bio, and social media links (e.g., Twitter, Nostr, Farcaster, or personal website). Benefits of creating a public profile may include enhanced visibility within the Ord-X community, showcasing your minted inscriptions, and potential eligibility for future platform features or rewards. However, you are solely responsible for any information you choose to share publicly, and we are not liable for any consequences arising from such disclosures. You may edit or delete your public profile at any time, subject to the limitations of blockchain data immutability.
Points Reward System
Ord-X may offer a points reward system where you can earn points through actions such as minting inscriptions or participating in platform activities. These points are not currency, have no guaranteed monetary value, and should not be viewed as an investment or financial asset. We may, at our sole discretion, offer benefits such as discounts, access to exclusive features, or airdropped digital assets in connection with points, but we make no promises or guarantees regarding such benefits. Points are non-transferable, non-refundable, and may be subject to expiration or modification at our discretion. You acknowledge that there is no expectation of tangible value or profit from earning points, and we are not liable for any perceived or actual loss of value related to points.
Risks of Using Bitcoin Wallets and Art Inscriptions
Using Bitcoin wallets and minting or purchasing art inscriptions involves risks, including but not limited to:
- Loss of Access: If you lose your private keys, seed phrases, or access to your wallet, you may permanently lose access to your inscriptions or points. We cannot recover or restore lost assets or points.
- Technical Risks: Errors, bugs, or vulnerabilities in the Bitcoin blockchain, Ordinals protocol, or your wallet software may result in loss of funds, inscriptions, or points.
- Market Risks: The value of digital art inscriptions or any future benefits tied to points may fluctuate widely or become worthless. There is no guarantee of value, and we do not promise or imply any expectation of profit from using our platform.
- Security Risks: Hacking, phishing, or other cyberattacks targeting your wallet, device, or public profile could result in loss. You are responsible for securing your own systems.
We are not liable for any losses resulting from these or other risks.
No Expectation of Profit
Ord-X is a platform for creating and collecting digital art, not an investment opportunity. You should not expect any financial return, profit, or increase in value from minting or acquiring inscriptions, earning points, or creating a public profile. Any decision to participate is at your own risk.
Intellectual Property and Content Removal
No Verification of Rights
We do not verify the intellectual property rights, ownership, or authenticity of the art submitted by artists, minted by users, or displayed in public profiles. You acknowledge that we cannot guarantee that any inscription or profile content is free from IP disputes or third-party claims.
Right to Remove Content
We reserve the right to remove any art, inscriptions, or public profile content from our platform at our sole discretion, particularly if we determine they infringe on intellectual property rights, are unlawful, or violate these Terms. If we receive a credible claim of IP infringement, we will remove the content without prior notice.
Your Responsibilities
Eligibility
You must be 18 or older (or have legal permission) to use our service.
Accurate Use
Provide valid wallet addresses and don't misuse our platform (e.g., spam, fraud, illegal content).
Content Ownership
You're responsible for what you mint or share in your public profile. Don't upload content you don't own or have rights to.
Blockchain Risks
Minting NFTs is permanent on the blockchain—we can't undo it. You accept all risks (e.g., gas fees, market value).
Wallet Security
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Bitcoin wallet and for any transactions you authorize.
Legal Compliance
You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations when using our platform, including those related to public profile content and points usage.
Our Rights
We can suspend or terminate your access, including your public profile or points balance, if you break these Terms, abuse the platform, or for legal reasons.
We own the platform and its technology. You get a limited right to use it for minting NFTs, creating profiles, and earning points.
Payments
Minting may involve fees (e.g., blockchain gas fees or our service fees). These are non-refundable unless we say otherwise.
You handle any taxes related to your NFT activities or any benefits derived from points.
No Liability for Losses
We provide this platform "as is" and make no warranties about its functionality, availability, or suitability. We are not responsible for:
- Losses due to wallet mismanagement, technical failures, or security breaches.
- Disputes over ownership, authenticity, or value of inscriptions or public profile content.
- Any financial or emotional harm resulting from your use of the platform, including loss of points or profile visibility.
You use Ord-X at your own risk, and we disclaim liability to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Disclaimers
As-Is Service
Our service is provided "as is." We don't guarantee it'll be perfect, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Blockchain
We don't control blockchain networks. Delays, failures, or losses (e.g., due to network issues) aren't our fault.
No Advice
We don't give financial, legal, or investment advice about NFTs, points, or profiles.
Exclusion of Users from Certain Countries
Due to U.S. legal requirements, this platform is not available to residents, entities, or persons located in countries or regions subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions, including North Korea, Iran, Syria, Cuba, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Russia. Users are responsible for ensuring their use complies with applicable laws.
Exclusion of Users from Certain US States
This platform is not available to residents of New York, Washington, or Maine due to regulatory restrictions.
Liability
- We're not liable for damages beyond what you paid us (if anything), except where law requires otherwise.
- You indemnify us against claims from your use of the platform (e.g., if your NFT or profile content infringes someone's rights).
Disputes
Law
These Terms are governed by U.S. and Wyoming State law.
Resolution
Any disputes go to arbitration in Sheridan, WY, unless law says otherwise.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
